Happy Thanksgiving
Hello everyone!!
It has been a long time since I last entered in my journal. That is how crazy my life can get ... too busy to stay on top of things. I can't believe it is already Thanksgiving. WOW, how time moves at such a swift pace.
Let me reflect for a moment...........the year 2006! I would have to say it was a DREAM YEAR. I accomplished one of my long time goals, to appear on the Ms. Olympia stage. It was never about where I placed, I just wanted to get there. The experience was just incredible and one that I will never forget. It is going to be very difficult for me to qualify this year based on the new weight classes that are going to be reinstated at Pro shows. I compete at 145# and the light weight cutt off is 135#..... I just would have to kill myself to get there and if I got there, at 5'5" I would be looking pretty scary. I think it is a good things for the sport.. but, what ever happened to the middle weight category. A few years back I remember the Jan Tana had a middleweight division.. this is when Kim Harris won her class. Ah, how female bodybuilding continues to evolve. We just have to see how it goes this year.........
I had such a wonderful experience at the Europa and Atlantic city. I just love to compete. I love being on stage and solidifying my hard work over the past year. It gives such a sense of completion and meaning to your training, dieting, and dedication to the lifestyle.
This past NPC Natinonals was just insane. One of the highlights was spending my with Mimi and Amanda. Those two are just great..........they have been there for me in good times and bad. I just love those two.
A great accomplishment was being able to do 9 girls hair and make-up all before 8:30 a.m. I was up for 28 hours -- from 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning- until Sunday at 5 a.m. What a long day. I managed to get all the girls done, race over to pre-judging and then race back to catch all of 20 min to shut my eyes before they all starting arriving again for the night show make-up touch ups. I was no FIRE. Everything basically had to be flawless or I wasn't going to make it with such limited time. Pure adrenaline. I loved it. I hope all the girls were happy.. I thought they looked beautiful and making them feel gorgeous always helps with self confidence on stage.
What is next for me? I put in the request for an invite to the Arnold. It is a long shot... they are only inviting 12-14 people and the quality of women is HUGE. So, I am just going to see what happens. If I don't get the invite....I am planning on doing the Europa and Atlantic City. Those appear to be the only shows other than the Sacramento in February to qualify for the Ms. Olympia. I am going to use this time to grow if not given the opportunity to compete at the Arnold. Doing the Sacramenot would seem silly.... as I still have many improvements to make on my physique.
I am also working on some great new websites.............
Women's Physique World has started a NEW site. It is fantastic. It chronicals the history of female bodybuilders. Never before seen photos of female bodybuilding greats such as Kay Baxtor. Hours or scanning negatives, magazines, and books to capture the photos just perfectly. If you love female bodybuilding, you are going to love this historical site.

I have several others that I am working on...............so, I will keep you posted.
I am also expanding my position at the Hospital I work at in the city, NY Diagnostic. I am going to be doing some outreach nutritional seminars for the patients. I am currently the chief dietitian and continue to practice with as much passion for my patients as I have for my bodybuilding. I can't be one dimensional.... if all I did was workout and bodybuild I would feel so empty as the sport is incredibly selfish. I love helping and sharing with others.
In life you have TO GIVE to GET. I leave work feeling like I have made a difference in someones life..... that is very meaningful and continue to bring substance to my life.
Just remember to remain balanced in life. That is the key to happiness.
Happy Thanksgiving...........don't eat too much.
I think I am saying that to myself!!!!
Colette
