Hello everyone!
I always find it funny when people come up to me at shows and tell me that they read my Journal....... I start to feel bad that I don't update more often. I am going to have to start. So, thank you to all of you who stop me and tell me that something I said in my journal motivated you, inspired you, or entertained you.
I am back from the NPC NATIONALS in Atlanta. What a great adventure. Between Dave and I we helped close to 10 people in the show. I was filled with adrenaline the whole weekend. The minute I stepped off the plane I didn't stop. I am still exhausted from the trip. Keep in mind... I started dieting for a hopeful invite to the Arnold Classic. I got the pleasure of hanging out with Maria Calo on the treadmill on Friday while I did a quick workout at the Golds Gym down there in Atlanta. She is great..... Looking amazing as always. I feel so small next to her.
The most exciting outcome was when Norma Neives won her Middleweight class and Pro-card. I was put in touch with her through Paco Guiterez and also Joel Goldberg. I had seen her compete at the Jr. Nationals and recognized her potential. The only thing missing, the TOTAL PACKAGE. That is where I needed to step in. No more french twists, buns, and pony tails. After I got through with her, she looked beautiful and had the package that I knew the judges would love. Her family was so generous and simply amazing. It gave me such great pleasure to see her win.
Another phenomenon -- MIMI Jabellee. Imagine that..............both girls that I did hair and make-up for turned PRO..... not a bad track record. Amanda Dunbar, Norma Neives, and Mimi Jabelee. She looked incredible and delivered everything that Amanda promised. She was just what the judges were looking for. They seemed to follow the 20% rule as they denied Debbie Lesweski a pro card due to her shredded glutes. Among my other girls, Michelle Morrison wasn't at her best and it cost her top 5. My GIRL... KAYLIE PERRY looked incredible. If you knew the torture I put her through.........she was just amazing. We sucked her down to MW and she did everything I told her to do and was a real champ. The photographers loved her and she is going to make her mark in this sport. I plan on seeing her up on that stage under my guidance next year. LOOK OUT! I had one Fitness Competitor , Katie Madden, who used to compete in bodybuilding. She was just too hard and had too much muscle. She looked incredible and I was so proud of her. She is not in her 20s anymore and god bless her for being able to kick ass in her routine. You will be seeing more of her too. Let me just tell you.. I didn't stop from 4:30 a.m. on Saturday morning until 1 a.m. I was so dead by the end of the day I couldn't move. I was numb. I obviously didn't get to train on Saturday and was too shot on Sunday to train. I just couldn't do it. I needed to chill...............trust me.
I just started working with a Cheri Owen. I met her when I won the strength show in California. She has a great deal of potential and I am planning on getting her ready for the Jr. Usas! I think she can do very well. I am meeting with her in NYC Dec. 2nd............we are going to train, pose, and go over her diet. I am getting psyched.
This has been a great year. I am enjoying my web design, make-up artistry, and of course my part time job in the city as the CHIEF dietitian for NY DIAGNOSTIC, specializing in HIV/AIDS nutrition. I get great pleasure out of helping people be the best they can be...........having me at the clinic is inspiring to my patients. I help motivate them to workout out, eat right, and make the best of their situation. I am actually going to be teaching an exercise clinic for the patients after hours. I don't know where I find the time.........but, I do.
It is going to be nice to have a break from traveling. I am going to Detroit for the HOLIDAY, but that is it until March 3.......which is the ARNOLD CLASSIC.
Time to focus on my LIFE. So, more website work and projects. Keep in touch..........
You never know what I will be up to next.
Colette
